Will has taken down, trimmed and cleaned up trees across Suffolk County for 30 years, the last ten of them as At The Top Tree Service Corp from our yard on Montauk Highway in Shirley. Will and his crew handle tree removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding, land clearing and storm emergencies with our own equipment: a 75-foot bucket truck, a Vermeer chipper, a log loader, three mini skid steers and a stump grinder.
You get a written price before any work starts, and a yard you can't tell we were in when we leave, except that the tree is gone.
Who We Are
Will got into tree work 30 years ago with a partner and no idea how to climb. The partner left after a few months; Will stayed, learned to climb, and got better every season. Along the way he found a climber that every tree company on the Island knew was the best, worked with him until he moved out of state, and built a crew that works the way he does.
Today Will manages the crew, does every estimate himself and spends his time with customers. He opened At The Top Tree Service Corp in 2016 and has gone from no equipment to a yard full of Vermeer and International iron, and he's still working toward the next machine that makes the job safer or faster.

Thirty years of tree work, fully licensed and insured, and permitted to work anywhere in Suffolk County. If a town or village permit applies to your job, we'll tell you before we start.
Emergency calls get answered after hours, and a tree on a house gets a crew the same day. Sundays we're closed, but the phone still rings through for a real emergency.
Will does every estimate in person and puts the whole job in writing, cleanup and stump included. The number doesn't move unless you change the job.

It depends on the tree's size, what's under it, and access for equipment. Small trees in open yards start in the low hundreds; large trees over a house run into the thousands. Will gives you an exact written number on site, free, and it doesn't change unless the job does.
Monday through Saturday, yes, because storms don't keep office hours. The phone is answered after hours for emergencies and estimates. We're closed Sundays, but a true emergency still gets a call back.
We're permitted to work across Suffolk County and we know which towns and villages require a permit for a removal or a clearing. If yours does, we tell you at the estimate and handle it.

Thirty years ago Will started with a partner, a truck and no idea how to climb a tree. When the partner left a few months in, Will kept going, learned to climb, and spent the next decades building a crew and a yard full of equipment. He still does every estimate himself.
